Chester is everything one imagines when they think about Old England...the shops tucked away in the Rows or even on the ground floors are really delightful. The Victorian craftsmanship in these half-timber buildings is stunning.
Shot late on a winter day, this was a difficult capture. It is hard to get far enough back, and the wide angle creates a strong distortion. So it took some serious work and compromise getting it upright, but other than a bit of distraction removal this is straight photography.

Michigan has approximately 129 lighthouses along its shores with 40 along Lake Michigan. However one of the most photographed is the Holland Harbor Light, fondly known as Big Red.

Within these walls at Raby dwelt knights clad in armor, gleaming under the flickering torchlight. Amidst this splendor, beyond the polished armor, lay a solemn duty woven into the fabric of their existence. All was not the fairytale it seems today, for beyond the castle walls, the realm teemed with treachery and the ever-looming threat of darkness.

Constructed in the late 19th century, the Lower Harbor Ore Dock was part of a network of docks that facilitated the transportation of iron ore from the mines of Michigan's Upper Peninsula to steel mills across the Great Lakes region. At its peak, Marquette was one of the largest shipping ports for iron ore in the United States, and the ore dock played a crucial role in this trade. ~Travel Marquette

Ok confession time, I have been trying to capture a quality image of these beautiful butterflies from the top of the wings. I am certain they have it in for me as they will not land and stay still with their wings open for more than a nano-second. So I once again came way without the prized image, but I am actually starting to appreciate the beauty of the underside!

The water mill lies hidden in Coombe Gill in the Borrowdale Valley near Derwentwater in the Lake District.

The walk toward Borrowdale Mill opens into this wide, low-lying pasture, often damp underfoot after rain. The ubiquitous stone walls mark old field lines, and sheep scatter across the grass as they always have. That cottage tucked under the trees has weathered over the years to become part of the landscape now.

We spent the day in Edinburgh yesterday. The sky changed every 5 minutes. It would rain and then the sky would open and send down glorious beams of light for us at what seemed the perfect time.
I did not enhance the blue, it was really like this as the sun began to sink in the west.
